September 11, 2001 - The hype has been building for this for at least the last week. On Monday, there were no less than three articles in the paper about the coming anniversary. There have been memorial concerts, and story telling circles. The hype has been unavoidable.

I'm not upset. I'm just not sure that now, two years, three thousand miles, and two cities later, I have very much to say about that day that hasn't been said a million times before. I know I've told my story, as lucky as it is, probably five thousand times. Everyone has their stories to tell from that day, and everyone has their own way to mourn. For me, today isn't about concerts for freedom, CNN specials, or political wrangling. My TV is going to be off all day, as it has been all week. I lived that day once. I don't feel the need to relive it again. Not yet. My memories of fear, pain and confusion from that day are still too vivid, and I know I was one of the very, very lucky ones.

I'm just going to make some phone calls to the people I was with, and to the people I wish I was with, and let them know I love them.
