Brooklyn Public Library Contest

At least you have a sandwich.
Brooklyn, New York - November 2005
Yeah, I posted this one before, I know, but this is here for a little self-promotion. This photo was selected as a finalist in the Brooklyn Public Library's 2007 "My Brooklyn" photo and essay contest. This means, among other things, that this shot and my essay will be on display at the Brooklyn Public Library's main branch in Grand Army Plaza through the summer starting on Wednesday June 20, 2007. I'm pretty happy. This is the first time I've ever won, or come close to winning, any photography or writing contests, so here's to me. I raise my Saranac Pale Ale to myself.

The Boathouse

Drifting falling or floating.
Brooklyn, New York - May 2007
I love how old this photo looks even though I only took it a couple of weeks ago while walking through prospect park. I dig this Efke film. This is ISO100, and I feel like I had a hard time exposing it correctly. I wonder what's going to happen when I get to the roll of ISO25 I bought not long ago. If it looks old timey like this, I'll be thrilled.
